PAXOS: AN INSPIRATIONAL LOCATION FOR
PAINTING AND PHOTOGRAPHY HOLIDAYS IN GREECE
Painting and photography are just two of the subjects covered by
special interest holiday operator Paxos Life Activities
in its 2010 programme of special interest holidays and
courses in Greece.
For anyone looking for a painting or photography holiday
in Greece, there can be no location more inspirational
than the tiny island of Paxos, where special interest
holiday operator Paxos Life Activities has just launched
its programme of holidays and courses for Summer 2010.
Paxos is a really beautiful island with stunning scenery
and wonderfully clear light just nine miles south of
Corfu. On the West coast there are dramatic cliffs,
while on the East coast there are pretty, unspoilt
villages and scenic bays. Much of the island is covered
in olive groves which in Spring and Autumn are carpeted
with wild flowers. The colours are simply amazing.
The friendly and informal holidays offered by Paxos Life
Activities are suitable for painters and photographers
of all levels of ability and will help everyone to tap
into the peace and beauty of the amazing landscape and
realise their full potential. Tuition is based around
group sessions on five mornings a week and early evening
get–togethers, leaving plenty of time for individual
advice, to explore Paxos or to simply relax. The
holidays therefore offer the best of both worlds: the
chance to have a holiday in an idyllic location, while
at the same time doing something very worthwhile in an
environment where there are few distractions.
Accommodation is in The Manor
House, an elegant building and one of the most
famous houses on the island that commands wonderful
views of Loggos harbour and the mountains of mainland
Greece. But for anyone already has their own
accommodation on Paxos or who simply wishes to be more
independent, it is also possible just to join the group
tuition sessions.
The holidays are not targeted at single travellers but
they are ideal for anyone travelling alone who wishes to
spend their time in the company of a group of
like-minded people. They are equally suited to couples
and larger groups.
The ‘September Painting Week’ takes place 20 – 27
September and the ‘Autumn Photography Week’ takes place
27 September – 4 October. At the time of writing, places
are still available on both holidays.
A range of Creative Writing, Yoga and Self-Development
holidays, and skippered or bareboat Yacht Charter are
also available.
