GREEK COOKERY
‘Greek Cookery’ talks and demonstrations given by Spiro
Anemoyiannis are just one of the activities we can arrange to provide
visitors with a unique opportunity to
learn more about the culture, history and landscape of Paxos.

Many people already know Spiro, as he
runs the Taxidi Bar on the jetty in Loggos. He is also
an accomplished musician, who has played in concerts in
the UK, is often involved in cultural events and
national festivals on Paxos, and has been featured on
both Greek and UK television.
The
talks and demonstrations are held in the Olive Museum
at Magazia and last about four hours. They include
-
an introductory talk on the development of Greek/Corfiot/Paxiot
cookery over the ages
-
an introduction to the
fruit, vegetables and herbs found around Paxos, and the
food industries on the island
-
a
demonstration of the preparation of traditional
Greek/Corfiot/Paxiot dishes and the selection of
wines to accompany them
-
a meal
consisting of the dishes prepared and the selected
wines

A
minimum number of participants is needed for each
talk and demonstration to take place, and the cost depends on the number of participants.
Please
contact
us,
if you would like to take part in a 'Greek
Cookery' talk and demonstration during your stay on Paxos.
